The Private Camp & Photographic Safari (6 nights)
Day One to Three - Walkers River Camp
On arrival in Johannesburg, you will take a short connecting flight to the town of Hoedspruit, a mere 40 minutes away. We will make all travel arrangements for you.
Upon arrival in Hoedspruit, you will be met by Wayne Donaldson & Legendary Game ranger Pat Donaldson, who will be your private guide’s and host’s for the duration of the Safari. You will be transferred to your first lodge for the next 3 nights, Walkers River Camp in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve.
On arrival at the camp, you will be just in time for a casual lunch, and then some down time before we head out for the afternoon game drive.
Walkers River Camp accommodates a maximum of 5 couples in private suites all with baths, outdoor showers, seperate toilets and fan enclosed nets over the beds. The Accommodation is luxury, with 2 large fridges / freezers, gas stove, electric oven, and microwave. The cozy sleeperwood bar has its own large wine/drinks fridge.
Staff are on hand to clean, make beds, make the Boma fire and generally assist where possible. For most self catering guests braais and outdoor cooking is the norm. The camp has a large filtered swimming pool, and the camp is protected from larger game with an electric fence, but smaller animals can gain access so caution is important. The beauty of staying at this camp, is that you will not see any other commercial vehicles while you are here.
Your 3 days here will consist of early morning game drives, followed by a nice brunch, and then it’s relax time around the lodge and swimming pool area until its time for the afternoon game drive. We will stop for nice cold refreshing drinks at sundown, and will come back to the lodge with a spot light looking for nocturnal animals. Both Pat and Wayne are experienced wildlife photographers, and are there to assist you in your photography, and to help you get some great shots.
Day Four to Six - Kings Camps - Private Jaydee Camp
Day 4 will see us travel to the luxury private Jaydee Camp, situated more on the Northern side of the Timbavati, with excellent leopard sightings in the area.
On our arrival we will enjoy a light lunch, and then relax around the camp before the afternoon game drive. The camp has 5 ensuite spacious thatched bungalows, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room. lounge and a covered open living area. The swimming pool overlooks an active waterhole and there is a boma as well as open braai area. There is basic electricity with fans in all rooms , but the light from paraffin lanterns in the garden at night ensures for a special atmosphere.
Once again you will enjoy 3 days of private game viewing on the early morning and late morning and late afternoon game drives. Although this is a catered safari, Wayne & Pat don’t mind if you want to get stuck in and help a bit with some of the catering, to help make you feel at home.
Day Seven - Travel
Day 7 will see us head to Eastgate Airport in the town of Hoedspruit, a mere 40 minutes away. Here you will take your connecting flight back to Johannesburg, or maybe to Cape Town for some more fun and sightseeing.
Your 6 Night Safari Adventure now ends, but the memories will linger on forever!
